Dominican's Julianna Bratsberg named PacWest Women’s Soccer Player of Week

PHOENIX, AZ - Dominican (CA) sophomore midfielder Julianna Bratsberg (Santa Rosa, CA/Maria Carrillo) has been named the Pacific West Conference Women’s Soccer Player of the Week.

The honor was announced by the PacWest Media Office in Phoenix, AZ, on Monday, Sept. 27, for games contested Sept. 20-26.

Bratsberg led the Penguins to a 2-0-0 week by recording four points on two goals. She scored the game-winning goal in a 2-1 win vs. Hawai‘i Hilo on Sept. 24 and tallied the game-tying goal in 2-1 victory vs. Dixie State on Sept. 22.

Julia Anglin - Grand Canyon (Jr., 5-8, D, Goodyear, AZ/Desert Edge)...scored three goals and totaled six points in two games for the Antelopes...led GCU to a 2-0-0 week with victories over Hawai‘i Hilo and NDNU...scored a pair of insurance goals in 3-0 victory vs. UHH...tallied game’s first goal in 2-1 win vs. NDNU on Sept. 22.

Kelly Calton - Dominican (CA) (Fr., 5-7, GK, Livermore, CA/Carondelet)...saw just 45 minutes of action but was spectacular...halted all six shots she faced in the second half of a 2-1 Dominican win over Dixie State on Sept. 22...credited with the victory after stepping into the game in the second half...earned her first collegiate win.

Meghan Fuller - Hawai‘i Pacific (So., 5-4, F, Pearl City, HI/Pearl City)...scored two goals and had four points in 4-0 win over Academy of Art on Sept. 25...lone game of the week for the Sea Warriors.

Megan Herring - Dominican (CA) (Fr., 5-7, GK, Santa Rosa, CA/Montgomery)...posted a 1.33 goals against average with an .889 save percentage in 135:00 of action over two games for the Penguins...halted 16 of 18 shots on goal during the week...halted 4 of 5 vs. Dixie State on Sept. 22...left game with scored deadlocked 1-1...Penguins pulled off a 2-1 victory...repelled 12 of 13 shots on goal vs. Hawai‘i Hilo on Sept. 24 in 2-1 Dominican win.

Milica Mihajlovic - Grand Canyon (So., 5-7, D, Novi Sad, Serbia)...assisted on game’s first goal and tallied what would prove to be the game-winner vs. NDNU on Sept. 22...finished contest with three points as GCU knocked off the Argonauts 2-1.

Marina Nesic - Grand Canyon (So., 5-3, M/F, Koceljeva, Serbia/Nada Dimic Zemun)...had game-winning goal vs. Hawai‘i Hilo on Sept. 20 in 3-0 Antelope victory...also had an assist in the contest...finished game with three points.

Stephanie Phillips - Grand Canyon (Jr., 5-7, GK, Tempe, AZ/Corona del Sol)...earned a pair of victories in net for the Antelopes...posted a 2-0-0 record with a 0.50 goals against average and a .909 save percentage during the week...earned a 3-0 shutout win vs. Hawai‘i Hilo on Sept. 20...repelled 9 of 10 shots on goal in 2-1 victory at NDNU on Sept. 22.

Nicole Slater - BYU-Hawaii (So., 5-6, M, Sandy, UT/Alta)...recorded three straight assists during 6-0 Seasider victory over Chaminade on Sept. 21...three goals came in a span of 3:50 near the end of the first half.

Yasmina Taketa - Hawai‘i Pacific (So., 5-5, M/F, Honolulu, HI/Kalani)...scored a goal and added an assist in 4-0 win over Academy of Art on Sept. 25...credited with game-winner and finished contest with three points.

Alexis Tershay - NDNU (So., 5-3, F, Sunnyvale, CA/Fremont)...posted five points on two goals and an assist in 3-1 win vs. Dixie State on Sept. 20...scored game-tying goal in 30th minute...assisted on game-winner in 50th minute...added insurance goal in 74th minute.
