BYU-Hawaii senior midfielder Natasha Aiono earns latest PacWest weekly honor

PHOENIX, AZ - BYU-Hawaii senior midfielder Natasha Aiono (South Jordan, UT/Bingham) has been named the Pacific West Conference Women’s Soccer Player of the Week.

The honor was announced by the PacWest Media Office in Phoenix, AZ, on Monday, Oct. 18, for games contested Oct. 11-17.

Aiono led the Seasiders to a 3-0-0 week by totaling seven points on three goals and one assist. She scored both goals, including the game-winner, vs. Dominican (CA) in a 2-0 win on Oct. 16.

She also assisted on game’s second goal in 4-0 blanking of NDNU on Oct. 14 and scored game’s first goal in 3-1 victory vs. Hawai‘i Hilo on Oct. 11.

Hana Klimek - Academy of Art (Fr., 5-11, GK, Olympia, CA/Olympia)...although gave up three goals in 3-1 vs. Santa Cruz on Oct. 16, kept Urban Knights in game by stopping 13 shots on net...third-highest save total in a single game this season in the PacWest.

Carianne Makino - Hawai‘i Pacific (Jr., 5-0, GK, Honolulu, HI/Kaiser)...halted all three shots fired at the HPU goal in 1-0 shutout of Dominican (CA) on Oct. 14.

Megan McCain - BYU-Hawaii (Fr., 5-7, G, Northglenn, CO/Broomfield)...led the Seasiders to a 3-0-0 week by earning victories in all three games...posted two shutouts and a 0.00 goals against average in 225:00 of action...halted all six shots flung her way...had three saves in 4-0 shutout victory vs. NDNU on Oct. 14...posted a pair of saves in 2-0 blanking of Dominican (CA) on Oct. 16...had one save and allowed no goals while playing first half of 3-1 triumph vs. Hawai‘i Hilo on Oct. 11.
