Chaminade senior goalie Marissa Minor chosen PacWest Player of Week
PHOENIX, AZ - Chaminade senior goalkeeper
Marissa Minor (Captain Cook,
HI/Konawaena) has been selected the Pacific West
Conference Women’s Soccer Player of the Week.
The honor was announced by the PacWest Media Office in Phoenix, AZ, on Monday, Oct. 4, for games contested Sept. 27 - Oct. 3.
Minor was outstanding for the Silverswords in back-to-back 1-0 shutouts of Academy of Art on Sept. 29 and Oct. 3.
In the two games, she halted all 17 shots fired at the Chaminade net, posting a perfect 0.00 goals against average and a 1.000 save percentage.

Natasha Aiono - BYU-Hawaii (Sr., 5-2, M, South Jordan,
UT/Bingham)...posted six points on three goals over
three games during the week...had two goals in 5-0 victory vs.
Academy of Art on Sept. 27...scored a goal vs. Grand Canyon in 2-2
double-overtime draw...her goal tied the game at 1-1.
April Beck - Dixie State (Jr., 5-7, GK, American Fork, UT/American Fork)...recorded a 2-0-0 week in net with a pair of 2-0 shutouts of Hawai‘i Pacific...posted a 0.00 goals against average and a 1.000 save percentage in 180:00 of action...stopped all eight shots on goal.
Mindy Beckstrom - Dixie State (Fr., 5-4, F, Nibley, UT/Mountain Crest)...had four points on two goals in 2-0 Red Storm victory vs. Hawai‘i Pacific on Oct. 1...the unassisted game-winner was scored in the 39th minute.
Whitley Davis - Dixie State (Jr., 5-6, D, Sandy, UT/Brighton)...had four points on two goals in 2-0 Red Storm victory vs. Hawai‘i Pacific on Sept. 30...game-winner came on a penalty kick.
Megan Herring - Dominican (CA) (Fr., 5-7, GK, Santa Rosa,
CA/Montgomery)...posted a 0.44 goals against average
with a .929 save percentage in 204:06 of action during back-to-back
overtime games...stopped 13 of 14 shots on net in the two
contests...earned a 2-1 overtime win vs. NDNU on Sept. 27...claimed
a shutout in a 0-0 double-overtime draw at NDNU on Oct. 1.
Brienna Maestas - Chaminade (Fr., 5-3, M/F, Camden, NC/Camden)...scored the game-winning goal in 1-0 win vs. Academy of Art on Sept. 29...goal came just over two minutes into the game...finished the week with two points on her one game-winning goal.
Emily Mearns - BYU-Hawaii (Sr., 5-6, F, San Ramon, CA/California)...scored two goals and totaled four points in a 2-0-1 week for the Seasiders...scored game-winner in 5-0 victory over Academy of Art on Sept. 27...also snapped 1-1 tie with game-wining goal at Grand Canyon on Oct. 2.
Megan McCain - BYU-Hawaii (Fr., 5-7, G, Northglenn,
CO/Broomfield)...posted a 2-0-1 week with a 0.93
goals against average and an .800 save percentage...halted 12 of 15
shots flung her way during the grueling week.
Alex Moran - Dominican (CA) (So., 5-8, M, Carmel Valley, CA/Torrey Pines)...scored game-winning goal vs. NDNU in overtime on Sept. 27 in 2-1 Penguin victory...finished week with the two points and one game-winning goal.
