California Baptist's Fabiola Zanella da Silva earns Capital One Academic All-District honors
RIVERSIDE, CA - With a conference title all wrapped up, Fabiola
Zanella da Silva learned on Friday, Nov. 6, that she had been
named to the Capital One Academic All-District women's soccer
team.
She was one of 14 NCAA Division II players from the West named to the District 8 team and was one of just two players selected from the PacWest, joining BYU-Hawaii's Britt Edman.
Da Silva is a senior pre-engineering major with a 3.47 grade point average, and she is third on the Lancers' team with 26 points, scoring nine goals and assisting on eight others.
Student-athletes were selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) and recognized as the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom.
There are eight districts all and separate teams for NCAA Division I, II and III as well as a College Division that includes NAIA, Canadian and two-year colleges. District 8 includes the PacWest, California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) and the Great Northwest Athletic Conference (GNAC).
Academic All-District First Team honorees advance to the Capital One Academic All-America Team ballot. The Capital One Division II Academic All-American Team will be announced Nov. 30.
