BYU-Hawaii goalie Megan McCain claims PacWest Women’s Soccer Player of the Week
PHOENIX, AZ - BYU-Hawaii sophomore goalkeeper
Megan McCain (Northglenn, CO/Broomfield)
has been chosen the Pacific West Conference Women’s Soccer
Player of the Week.
The honor was announced by the PacWest Media Office in Phoenix, AZ, on Monday, Oct. 3, for games played Sept. 26-Oct. 2.
McCain earned back-to-back shutouts of Grand Canyon and Hawaii Pacific - two of the top teams in the PacWest - during a 1-0-1 week. She produced a 0.00 goals against average with a 1.000 save percentage after stopping all 13 shots flung her way.
McCain posted eight saves in 3-0 win over HPU on Oct. 1 and stopped five shots in 0-0 double-overtime tie vs. Grand Canyon on Sept. 26.

Andrea Aguirre - Hawai‘i Pacific (So., 5-5, M, Honolulu,
HI/Kalani)...scored the game-winning goal in 2-0
blanking of Grand Canyon on Sept. 29...scored goal in the first
half.
Megan Bucci - Academy of Art (Sr., 5-9, F/D, Redondo Beach, CA/Redondo Union)...posted six points on two goals and two assists in a 2-0-0 week for the Urban Knights...registered a goal and an assist in 3-2 win vs. William Jessup on Sept. 29...tallied game-winning goal in overtime at 91:50...credited with game-winning goal in 4-1 win over Chaminade on Oct. 1...assisted on game’s first goal.
Hannah Emmett - Academy of Art (So., 5-4, M/F, Halifax, NS, Canada/Citadel)...recorded a three-point week for Urban Knights...Art U registered a 2-0-0 mark...assisted on game’s second goal in 3-2 overtime win vs. William Jessup on Sept. 29...scored game’s fourth goal in 4-1 win vs. Chaminade on Oct. 1.
Nicoline Jorgensen - California Baptist (Sr., 5-7, GK, Odense, Denmark)...posted a 2-0-0 week with one shutout for the Lancers...earned a 1-0 win over Dominican (CA) on Sept. 26...also claimed 4-1 win vs. Dixie State on Oct. 1...halted 8 of 9 shots on goal...posted a 0.53 goals against average and an .889 save percentage.
Marina Nesic - Grand Canyon (Jr., 5-4, M/F, Koceljeva,
Serbia)...recorded seven points on three goals and
one assist in 5-2 victory over Hawai‘i Hilo on Oct.
1...scored twice on penalty kicks...assisted on game’s third
goal that proved to be the game-winner.
Kylee Nicassio - California Baptist (Sr., 5-9, F, Alta Loma, CA/Los Osos)...scored game’s first two goals in 4-1 win at Dixie State on Oct. 1...credited with game-winning goal...finished week with four points on the two goals.
Rylei North - BYU-Hawaii (Fr., 5-7, F, Bountiful, UT/Alta)...scored two goals and totaled four points in 3-0 victory at Hawai‘i Pacific on Oct. 1.
Tori Selesia - Dominican (CA) (So., 5-5, F, Sonora, CA/Sonora)...posted a five-point game in 5-1 win over Chaminade on Sept. 29...scored two goals and added an assist...credited with game-winning goal.
