California Baptist goalie Nicoline Jorgensen claims latest PacWest Women’s Soccer award
PHOENIX, AZ - California Baptist senior goalkeeper
Nicoline Jorgensen (Odense, Denmark) has
been named the Pacific West Conference Women’s Soccer Player
of the Week.
The honor was announced by the PacWest Media Office in Phoenix, AZ, on Monday, Oct. 24, for games played Oct. 17-23.
Jorgensen led the Lancers to a 3-0-0 week in Hawai‘i by earning all three victories in net.
She shut out Hawai‘i Pacific 2-0 on Oct. 17 and followed up with another 2-0 blanking at BYU-Hawaii on Oct. 19. She wrapped up her island road trip with a 6-1 win at Hawai‘i Hilo on Oct. 22.
For the week, Jorgensen stopped 11 of 12 shots on net, recorded a 0.33 goals against average, and registered a .917 save percentage.
She played all 270 of her team’s minutes for the week.

Sarah Biser - Notre Dame de Namur (Sr., 5-7, F, Newark, CA/Newark Memorial)...recorded a goal and an assist in 4-1 win over Dominican (CA) on Oct. 18...lone game of the week for the Argos...assisted on game-winner at 69:17...made score 3-1 with goal at 72:12...finished week with three points.
Britt Edman - BYU-Hawaii (Sr., 5-7, F/M, Salt Lake City, UT/Highland)...led Seasiders to a 2-1-0 week by scoring two goals and totaling four points...tallied game-winner vs. Dixie State in the 58th minute of a 2-1 victory on Oct. 17...scored unassisted game-winning goal with :01 left in the first overtime period vs. Hawai‘i Pacific on Oct. 21...Seasiders won non-league contest 1-0.
Bianco Lemus - Notre Dame de Namur (Fr., 5-3, M, Hayward, CA/Moreau Catholic)...scored two goals and totaled four points in 4-1 win over Dominican (CA) on Oct. 18...lone game of the week for the Argos...scored game-winner at 69:17...tallied final goal at 81:25.
Jennifer Mason - Dixie State (Fr., 5-5, F, Springville, UT/Springville)...led Red Storm to a 2-1-0 week...scored two goals and finished with four points...tied game 1-1 at Chaminade on Oct. 22 by redirecting corner kick into the net...Dixie State won game 3-1...tallied insurance goal at 63:58 in 2-0 blanking of HPU on Oct. 19.
Kylee Nicassio - California Baptist (Sr., 5-9, F, Alta Loma,
CA/Los Osos)...helped lead Lancers to a 3-0-0 week by
totaling five points on two goals and an assist...scored an
insurance goal at BYU-Hawaii on Oct. 19 during a 2-0 Lancer
victory...goal occurred at 81:25...assisted on game’s first
goal during 6-1 win at Hawai‘i Hilo on Oct. 22...put Lancers
ahead 4-1 in same contest with a goal at 76:21.
Stephanie Phillips - Grand Canyon (Sr., 5-7, GK, Tempe, AZ/Corona del Sol)...pitched a pair of home shutouts in sweep of Academy of Art on Oct 20 and 22...halted four shots on goal in both games...registered a perfect 1.000 save percentage and a 0.00 goals against average for the week.
Cierra Valdez - Grand Canyon (So., 5-4, M, Phoenix, AZ/Westview)...scored both game-winning goals in sweep of Academy of Art on Oct 20 and 22 in Phoenix, AZ...tallied game-winner at 31:24 in 3-0 win on Oct. 22...punched home lone goal at 59:02 in 1-0 victory on Oct. 20.
Bernadette Witz - California Baptist (So., 5-1, F/M, Temecula, CA/Temecula Valley)...helped lead Lancers to a 3-0-0 week by totaling five points on two goals and an assist...recorded all five points in a span of 8:02 late in the second half during 6-1 victory at Hawai‘i Hilo on Oct. 22...assisted on goal that put CBU ahead 4-1...scored game’s final two goals.
Fabiola Zanella da Silva - California Baptist (Sr., 5-7, M, Curitiba, Brazil)...helped lead Lancers to a 3-0-0 week by accruing six points on three goals...scored insurance goal at 71:02 of a 2-0 victory at HPU on Oct. 17...tallied game-winner on a penalty kick at BYU-Hawaii on Oct. 19...goal came at 2:08...Lancers eventually won contest 2-0...put CBU ahead 3-1 at 62:30 during a 6-1 win at Hawai‘i Hilo on Oct. 22.
