California Baptist's Bernadette Witz selected 2012 PacWest Women’s Soccer Player of the Year

Bernadette Witz PHOENIX, Ariz. - California Baptist junior midfielder Bernadette Witz (Temecula, CA/Temeucla Valley) has been selected the 2012 Pacific West Conference Women's Soccer Player of the Year.

The PacWest presented its major women's soccer awards and the 2012 All-PacWest Team on Thursday, Nov. 15, live during the conference's PacWest Radio Show on KQCK.

Witz was one of 44 players to receive All-PacWest honors as the conference announced its expanded awards featuring a First, Second and Third Team, as well as an Honorable Mention squad.

California Baptist dominated the women's awards, with junior Rosie Nakata (Mililani, HI/Mililani) earning Goalkeeper of the Year accolades and senior Daelyn Paul (Upland, CA/St. Lucy's Priory) being named the Newcomer of the Year.

Kristen St. Clair, the Lancers' head coach, repeated as the PacWest Coach of the Year after garnering the honor in 2011.

Dominican freshman forward Lauren Gollnick (Meadow Vista, CA/Del Oro) was named the 2012 PacWest Freshman of the Year.
