PHOENIX, Ariz. – Fresno Pacific junior Sarah King (Tulare, CA/Tulare Western) has been selected the second Pacific West Conference Women's Soccer Goalkeeper of the Week for 2012.
The conference announced the honor on Sunday, Sept. 30, for the first week of games contested Sept. 3-9.
King's numbers for the week were not overtly spectacular – she posted a 0-1-1 week with an .850 save percentage, a 1.35 goals against average, and a 3-0 loss vs. Cal State San Marcos on Sept. 8.
But King was outstanding against at Cal State Bakersfield on Sept. 4, almost single-handedly forging a 0-0 double-overtime draw for the Sunbirds by stopping all 12 shots on goal flung her way.
She ended up stopping 17 shots over two games.
