HPU’s Conching Named ITA National Assistant Coach of the Year

Skillman, NJ – Hawai‘i Pacific's Lauren Conching has been named the ITA Division II Women’s Tennis National Assistant Coach of the Year.

The announcement came today from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association national office in Skillman, NJ.

Conching helped guide HPU to an 18-4 regular-season record. Her Sea Warriors are currently in the quarterfinal round of the NCAA II National Championships. HPU is ranked ninth in the nation and second in the West Region.

Conching, who also assists with the HPU men’s program, is in her fourth season with the Sea Warriors.

The women’s team has made national tournament appearances in each of her four years on the court.

The award comes just days after Conching was named the ITA West Region Assistant Coach of the Year.

Conching also works in the HPU athletics department as the coordinator for athletics marketing.

The HPU women’s team plays its quarterfinal match on Thursday, May 13, vs. California University of Pennsylvania beginning at 9 a.m. EDT.
