BYU-Hawaii’s Lauren Hagemeyer named latest PacWest Women’s Volleyball Player of Week
PHOENIX, Ariz. –BYU-Hawaii senior outside
hitter Lauren Hagemeyer (Ridgway,
CO/Ridgway) has been selected the Pacific
West Conference Women’s Volleyball Player of the
Week.
The conference announced the honor on Monday, Oct. 15, for matches contested Oct. 8-14.
Hagemeyer led the Seasiders to a 3-0 week that featured sweeps of Azusa Pacific, Point Loma and California Baptist that kept BYU-Hawaii unbeaten in the PacWest and tied at 8-0 atop the standings with Fresno Pacific.
Hagemeyer led the PacWest in hitting for the week by posting a .579 mark in nine sets. She totaled 37 kills in 57 attempts while committing just four errors.
She also ranked third in scoring for the week in the PacWest after producing 4.56 points per set, and she totaled 41 points on the 37 kills and eight block assists.

Kathleen Anderson (Jr., 6-1, MB, Lemoore, CA/Lemoore) - Fresno
Pacific – led Sunbirds to a 2-0 week by hitting
.404 and averaging 3.00 kills per set…ranked seventh in
hitting percentage and tied for 13th in kills per set
for the week in the PacWest…also averaged 0.38 service aces
and 1.12 blocks per set…ranked eighth in scoring during the
week with a 3.94 points-per-set average…totaled 31.5 points
on 24 kills, three aces and nine block assists.
Makenzi Bird (Fr., 6-0, M/RS, St. George, UT/Snow Canyon) – Dixie State – averaged 3.75 points per set in a 1-1 week for the Red Storm…totaled 30.0 points on 26 kills and eight block assists…tied for 10th in scoring for the week in the PacWest…hit .242 to rank 15th in the league for the week…had 26 kills on 66 attempts with 10 errors…also ranked 10th in kills per set (3.25) and tied for 14th in blocks per set (1.00).
Ying Chun Chen (So., 5-7, S, Kaohsiung, Taiwan/Chung Shan) – BYU-Hawaii – ranked third in the PacWest in assists per set (11.11) for the week after pushing the Seasiders to a 3-0 mark…totaled 100 assists in nine sets.
Haley Doerfler (So., 6-1, MB, Battle Ground, WA/Prarie) – Hawai‘i Pacific – led Sea Warriors to a 1-1 week…ranked second in the PacWest in blocks per set for the week…totaled 14 blocks on 13 assists and one solo…averaged 1.56 per set over nine sets.
Lindsay Elgin (So., 6-3, MB, San Diego, CA/Cathedral Catholic) -
Academy of Art – hit .480 and posted eight
block assists in lone match of the week – a 3-2 loss at
powerful Fresno Pacific on Oct. 13…totaled 13 kills on 25
total attempts with just one error…averaged 3.40 points per
set during match…accumulated 17 points on the 13 kills and
eight block assists.
Hayleigh Friemoth (So., 5-10, OH, Hemet, CA/Hemet) – Grand Canyon – averaged 3.17 kills, 3.67 digs and 3.75 points per set in a 2-0 week for the Antelopes…ranked 12th in kills per set, tied for 16th in dig average, and tied for 10th in scoring in the PacWest for the week…totaled 22.5 points on 19 kills, three aces and a block assist…tied for seventh in aces per set (0.50) for the week.
Natalie Hamill (Sr., 5-7, S, Laguna Niguel, CA/Santa Margarita) – Point Loma – averaged 10.07 assists per set in a 2-2 week for the Sea Lions…led the PacWest in total assists for the week with 141…ranked fourth in assist average…tied for seventh during the week in service aces per set (0.50) after recording seven in 14 sets.
Jackie Landers (Jr., 5-11, OH, Torrance, CA/South) – Azusa Pacific – led Cougars to a 2-1 week by averaging 4.00 kills and 4.09 points per set…totaled 45.0 points on 44 kills and two block assists…ranked fifth in scoring average and tied for fourth in kills per set for the week in the conference.
Kelli LeClair (Fr., 5-10, OH, Yucaipa, CA/Yucaipa) – Point Loma – pushed PLNU to a 2-2 week by averaging 4.68 points and 4.21 kills per set…ranked second in kills per set and in scoring for the week in the PacWest…totaled 65.5 points on 59 kills, three aces, two block solos and a trio of block assists…hit .226 for the week while handling more chances than any other player during the last seven-day stretch…had 59 kills on 177 attempts with 19 errors.
Katie Lopez (So., 5-11, OH, Fremont, CA/Irvington) – Holy
Names – led Hawks to a 1-1 week by averaging
4.00 kills and 4.38 points per set…ranked fourth in scoring
and tied for fourth in kills per set for the week…also
ranked 10th in digs per set (4.38) after totaling 35 in
eight sets.
Kim McCalmont (Jr., 6-0, OH, El Cajon, CA/Granite Hills) – California Baptist – hit .296 and averaged 3.44 kills per set in a 2-1 week for the Lancers…ranked eighth in kills per set and 11th in hitting in the PacWest for the week…also ranked sixth in scoring average for the week after producing 4.06 points per set…totaled 36.5 points on 31 kills, three aces, two block solos and a block assist.
Bria Morgan (Fr., 5-11, OH, Soquel, CA/Soquel) – Hawai‘i Hilo – led PacWest in kills (6.17) and points (6.67) per set during the week despite a 0-2 record for the Vulcans…totaled 37 kills and three aces for 40 points.
Taylor Parker (Jr., 6-0, S, San Diego, CA/Scripps Ranch) – California Baptist – averaged 11.29 assists per set after totaling 79 in seven sets during the week…ranked second in the conference in assist average for the week while helping CBU to a 2-1 mark.
Mackenzie Phelps (So., 5-10, L, Prescott, AZ/Prescott) - Grand Canyon – ranked second in the PacWest in digs per set (5.67) during a 2-0 week for the Antelopes…totaled 34 digs in six sets.
Kristen Preach (Sr., 5-10, S, Phoenix, AZ/Xavier Prep) – Grand Canyon – averaged 11.83 assists per set in a 2-0 week for the Antelopes…had 71 assists in six sets…ranked first in assist average in the PacWest for the week.
