PHOENIX, Ariz. – Point Loma freshman outside hitter Kelli LeClair (Yucaipa, CA/Yucaipa) has been selected the Pacific West Conference Women's Volleyball Player of the Week.
The conference announced the honor on Monday, Oct. 22, for matches contested Oct. 15-21.
LeClair pushed PLNU to a 1-1 week including a road upset of nationally-ranked Grand Canyon on Oct. 20.
She ranked third in scoring average in the PacWest during the week after averaging 6.07 points per set. She also ranked fourth in kills per set (5.43) and tied for 15th in aces per set (0.43) during the stretch.
Defensively, LeClair was outstanding after ranking 18th in digs per set (3.29) in the league for the week. She totaled 23 digs over seven sets and finished the week by amassing 42.5 points on 38 kills, three aces and three block assists.
Janelle Burnett (Sr., 5-6, L, Liberal, KS/Liberal) - Academy of Art – averaged 6.20 digs per set in a 1-2 week for the Urban Knights…ranked second in the PacWest…led the PacWest in total digs with 62.
Sophie Burns (Sr., 5-10, S, Valencia, CA/West Ranch) – Azusa Pacific – helped lead the Cougars to a 2-0 week by averaging 10.29 assists per set…ranked seventh in assist average in the PacWest for the week…totaled 72 in seven sets…tied for eighth in aces per set (0.57) after recording four in seven sets.
Shih Ting Chen (So., 5-10, OH/MB, Yunlin, Taiwan/Chung Shan) – BYU-Hawaii - led BYU-Hawaii to a 3-0 sweep of Hawai'i Hilo on Oct. 19 - lone match of the week for the Seasiders…totaled 20.5 points on 19 kills, an ace and a block assist…averaged 6.83 points per set in the win…ranked second in scoring for the week in the PacWest…averaged 6.33 kills per set to also rank second for the week…tied for second in hitting percentage with a .500 mark after posting 19 kills on 34 attempts with just two errors.
Ying Chun Chen (So., 5-7, S, Kaohsiung, Taiwan/Chung Shan) – BYU-Hawaii – led the PacWest in assists per set (13.67) for the week…totaled 41 assists in three-set win over Hawai'i Hilo on Oct. 19 – the lone match of the week for the Seasiders.
Natalie Hamill (Sr., 5-7, S, Laguna Niguel, CA/Santa Margarita) – Point Loma – averaged 12.00 assists and 0.57 aces per set during a 1-1 week for the Sea Lions…totaled 84 assists over the two matches…ranked second in assist average for the week in the PacWest…also tied for eighth in aces per set (0.57) for the week after posting four in seven sets.
Anna Jayo (Sr., 5-7, S, San Francisco, CA/Immaculate Conception) – Notre Dame de Namur – averaged 11.75 assists per set despite a 0-2 week…totaled 94 assists over the two matches…ranked third in assist average for the week in the PacWest.
Pihanakealoha Kea (Sr., 5-5, S, Honolulu, HI/Punahou School) – Hawai'i Pacific – led Sea Warriors to a 2-0 week by averaging 11.71 assists per set…totaled 82 in seven sets…ranked fourth in the PacWest in assist average for the week.

Mattie Shelford (Fr., 6-1, OH, Snohomish, WA/Cedar Park Christian) – Azusa Pacific – helped Cougars to a 2-0 week by averaging 5.50 kills and 5.62 points per set…ranked third in kills per set and fourth in scoring in the PacWest for the week…totaled 22.5 points on 22 kills and a block assist...ranked 12th in hitting for the week in the conference after posting a .340 percentage…had 22 kills on 50 attempts with five errors.
Rachael Smith (Fr., 5-10, S, Clovis, CA/Clovis) - Academy of Art – averaged 10.80 assists per set in a 1-2 week for the Urban Knights…led the PacWest in total assists with 108 for the week…ranked fifth in assist average.
Michelle Tevaga (Sr., 5-9, OH, Laie, HI/Kahuku) – BYU-Hawaii - led BYU-Hawaii to a 3-0 sweep of Hawai'i Hilo on Oct. 19 - lone match of the week for the Seasiders…totaled 14.5 points on 14 kills, and a block assist…averaged 4.83 points per set in the win…ranked fifth in scoring for the week in the PacWest…averaged 4.67 kills per set to also rank fifth for the week…led the league in hitting with a .600 mark after posting the 14 kills on 20 attempts with just two errors.
Kasey Thompson (Fr., 6-2, RS, New Port Beach, CA/Newport Harbo) – Hawai'i Pacific – led Sea Warriors to a 2-0 week by averaging 3.86 points and 3.43 kills per set…ranked 13th in kill average and in scoring for the week in the PacWest…totaled 27 points on 24 kills, an ace, a block solo and two block assists…hit .352 for the week to rank 11th in the league…had five errors on 54 attempts while accumulating the 24 kills.
