BYU-Hawaii's Lacey (Johnson) Krout earns another PacWest award

PHOENIX, AZ - BYU-Hawaii sophomore Lacey (Johnson) Krout (Preston, ID/Preston) has been selected the Pacific West Conference Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week for the second time this season. She previously was chosen on Sept. 28.

Her recent honor was announced by the PacWest Media Office in Phoenix, AZ, on Monday, Oct. 19, for races contested on Oct. 17.

Krout claimed the BYU-Hawaii Invitational 5K after posting a time of 19:12, leading a trio of Seasiders across the finish line.

PacWest Women's Cross Country Weekly Top 10 Honor Roll

Danielle Anderson - BYU-Hawaii (So., 5-0, Richland, WA/Richland)...finished third overall and third among Seasiders at the BYU-Hawaii Invitational on Oct. 17...race distance was 5K...crossed the finish line in a time of 19:25...helped lead BYU-Hawaii to a victory in its home meet.

Kirsta Andrew (right) - Hawai‘i Hilo (So., 5-5, Garden Grove, CA/Lutheran)...was the top Vulcan runner at the BYU-Hawaii Invitational on Oct. 17...placed fourth overall after completing the 5K course in a time of 19:28.

Katherine Buxton - BYU-Hawaii (So., 5-4, Gettysburg, PA/Gettysburg)...finished second overall and second among Seasiders at the BYU-Hawaii Invitational on Oct. 17...race distance was 5K...finished in a time of 19:23...helped lead BYU-Hawaii to a first-place finish.

Denisse Correa (left) - Academy of Art (So., 5-7, San Diego, CA/Mar Vista)...placed second among Urban Knight runners at the 2009 Bronco Invitational at UC Santa Clara...race was held on Oct. 17...finished the race in a time of 20:03 to take 33rd overall out of 135 runners.

Nina Hagemann - Hawai‘i Hilo (Sr., 5-4, Mountain View, HI/Keaau)...finished second among the Vulcan entries and ninth overall at the BYU-Hawaii Invitational on Oct. 17...finished the 5K course in a time of 19:35.

Lacee Kurtz - Hawai‘i Pacific (Fr., 5-3, Milford, OH/Milford)...placed fifth overall and fourth among Seasiders at the BYU-Hawaii Invitational on Oct. 17...finished the 5K course in a time of 19:29...helped lead BYU-Hawaii to a first-place finish.

Michelle Lundh - Hawai‘i Pacific (Fr., 5-3, Hillerod, Denmark/Fredericksborg Gym)...wound up second among HPU runners and seventh overall at the Oct. 17 BYU-Hawaii Invitational...finished the 5K course in a time of 19:31 as the Sea Warriors took second place in the event.

Allison Shamrell (right) - BYU-Hawaii (Sr., 5-7, Gresham, OR/Sam Barlow)...took eighth place overall and fifth among Seasiders at the BYU-Hawaii Invitational on Oct. 17...race distance was 5K...finished in a time of 19:32...helped guide BYU-Hawaii to a first-place finish.

Mariane Uehara - Hawai‘i Pacific (Gr., 5-3, Sau Paulo, Brazil/UNESP)...posted the top time among Sea Warrior runners and finished sixth overall at the Oct. 17 BYU-Hawaii Invitational...race distance was 5K...completed race in 19:31...helped HPU take second place as a team.

Irinel Zamfir - Academy of Art (Jr., 5-6, Suceava, Romania)...top Urban Knight runner at the 2009 Bronco Invitational at UC Santa Clara...race was held on Oct. 17...finished the event in a time of 19:25 to take 11th overall out of 135 runners.
