HPU's Quinn Horochuk earns PacWest XC honor

PHOENIX, AZ - Hawai‘i Pacific senior Quinn Horochuk (New Brunswick, Canada/Oromocto) has been selected the Pacific West Conference Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week.

The honor was announced by the PacWest Media Office in Phoenix, AZ, on Monday, Sept. 21, for races contested on Sept. 19.

Horochuk finished third overall - and first among PacWest runners - at the 2009 University of Hawai‘i Big Wave Invitational. She finished the 4K race in a time of 15:38.12.

Danielle Anderson - BYU-Hawaii (So., 5-0, Richland, WA/Richland)...took eighth place at the University of Hawai‘i Big Wave Invitational on Sept. 19...completed the 4K course in a time of 15:57.75 to help BYU-Hawaii take first place in the event over Division I Hawai‘i.

Kirsta Andrew (left) - Hawai‘i Hilo (So., 5-5, Garden Grove, CA/Lutheran)...finished 10th overall and second among Vulcan entries at the University of Hawai‘i Big Wave Invitational on Sept. 19...completed the 4K course in 16:09.05...UHH finished fourth overall as a team.

Katherine Buxton - BYU-Hawaii (So., 5-4, Gettysburg, PA/Gettysburg)...finished sixth overall and third among PacWest runners at the University of Hawai‘i Big Wave Invitational on Sept. 19...was second among BYU-Hawaii entries...ran the 4K course in a time of 15:46.60 to help BYU-Hawaii take first place over Division I Hawai‘i.

Kelsey Elder (right) - BYU-Hawaii (Fr., 5-0, Lancaster, CA/Quartz Hill)...finished 13th overall at the University of Hawai‘i Big Wave Invitational on Sept. 19...completed the 4K course in a time of 16:21.50.

Nina Hagemann - Hawai‘i Hilo (Sr., 5-4, Mountain View, HI/Keaau)...placed seventh overall and first among Vulcan entries at the University of Hawai‘i Big Wave Invitational on Sept. 19...completed the 4K course in 15:55.90...UHH finished fourth overall as a team.

Lacey (Johnson) Krout - BYU-Hawaii (So., 5-3, Preston, ID/Preston)...finished fourth overall and second among PacWest runners at the University of Hawai‘i Big Wave Invitational on Sept. 19...was the top Seasider in the competition...covered the 4K course in 15:42.14...helped BYU-Hawaii take first place over Division I Hawai‘i.

Lacee Kurtz (left) - BYU-Hawaii (Fr., 5-1, Milford, OH/Milford)...ranked 11th at the University of Hawai‘i Big Wave Invitational on Sept. 19...completed the 4K course in a time of 16:10.47...BYU-Hawaii won the race over Division I host Hawai‘i.

Michelle Lundh - Hawai‘i Pacific (Fr., 5-3, Hillerod, Denmark/Fredericksborg Gym)...finished 12th overall at the University of Hawai‘i Big Wave Invitational on Sept. 19...completed the 4K course in a time of 16:15.14.

Renee Peck - Grand Canyon (Fr., 5-6, Glendale, AZ/Sandra Day O'Connor)...52nd overall and first among Grand Canyon competitors at the 2009 Aztec Invitational at San Diego State on Sept. 19...posted a time of 21:59 on the 5K course.

Allison Shamrell - BYU-Hawaii (Sr., 5-7, Gresham, OR/Sam Barlow)...placed ninth at the University of Hawai‘i Big Wave Invitational on Sept. 19...completed the 4K course in a time of 16:03.03...BYU-Hawaii won the race over Division I host Hawai‘i.
