Pennsylvania native claims PacWest Runner of the Week award for BYU-Hawaii
Pennsylvania native earns first PacWest Runner of the Week honor
for BYU-Hawaii
PHOENIX, AZ - BYU-Hawaii sophomore Katherine Buxton (Gettysburg, PA/Gettysburg) was selected the Pacific West Conference Women's Runner of the Week for her outstanding performances to start the 2009 campaign.
The honor was announced by the PacWest Media Office in Phoenix, AZ, on Tuesday, Sept. 15, for races contested Sept. 5-12.
Buxton finished fifth overall and first among PacWest runners at the Hawai‘i Pacific University Invitational at Kualoa Ranch after covering the course in a time of 18:51.

View, HI/Keaau)...placed 18th overall and ninth among
PacWest competitors at the HPU Invitational on Sept. 5...registered
a time of 19:42.
Quinn Horochuk - Hawai‘i Pacific (Gr., 5-3, Sau Paulo, Brazil/UNESP)...finished 11th overall at the HPU Invitational on Sept. 5...posted a time of 19:13...placed fifth among PacWest participants.
Lacey (Johnson) Krout - BYU-Hawaii (So., 5-3, Preston, ID/Preston)...finished sixth overall and second among PacWest runners at the HPU Invitational on Sept. 5...posted a time of 18:57.
Lacee Kurtz - Hawai‘i Pacific (Fr., 5-3, Milford, OH/Milford)...finished 14th overall at the HPU Invitational on Sept. 5...recorded a time of 19:24...took sixth among PacWest participants.
Renee Peck - Grand Canyon (Fr., 5-6, Glendale, AZ/Sandra Day O'Connor)...finished 38th overall, 19th among four-year institutions and first among Antelope entries at the George Kyte Classic hosted by Northern Arizona University on Sept. 5...recorded a time of 20:36.7 in the 5K run.
Allison Shamrell - BYU-Hawaii (Sr., 5-7, Gresham, OR/Sam Barlow)...placed seventh overall and third among PacWest competitors at the HPU Invitational on Sept. 5...registered a time of 18:59.
