BYU-Hawaii's Lacey (Johnson) Krout earns PacWest honor

PHOENIX, AZ - BYU-Hawaii sophomore Lacey (Johnson) Krout (Preston, ID/Preston) has been selected the Pacific West Conference Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week.

The honor was announced by the PacWest Media Office in Phoenix, AZ, on Monday, Sept. 28, for races contested on Sept. 26.

Krout captured the 2009 Chaminade Invitational on Sept. 26 by recording a time of 19:20. She led BYU-Hawaii to a first-place finish as the Seasiders claimed the top five individual slots in the event.

Kelsey Elder (right) - BYU-Hawaii (Fr., 5-0, Lancaster, CA/Quartz Hill)...finished 10th overall at the Chaminade Invitational on Sept. 26...completed the course in a time of 20:22...ranked sixth among BYU-Hawaii runners.

Nina Hagemann - Hawai‘i Hilo (Sr., 5-4, Mountain View, HI/Keaau)...ranked second among Vulcan runners and ninth overall at the Chaminade Invitational on Sept. 26...recorded a time of 20:15...Vulcans finished third as a team.

Quinn Horochuk - Hawai‘i Pacific (Sr., 5-5, New Brunswick, Canada/Oromocto)... placed sixth overall and first among HPU runners at the 2009 Chaminade Invitational on Sept. 26...recorded a time of 19:58.
