Hawai‘i Pacific's Frida Aspnas named PacWest Women's Runner of the Week
PHOENIX, AZ - Hawai‘i Pacific senior
Frida Aspnas (Norrkoping, Sweden) has
been chosen the first Pacific West Conference Women’s Cross
Country Runner of the Week of 2010.
The honor was announced by the PacWest Media Office in Phoenix, AZ, on Tuesday, Sept. 7, for races contested on Sept. 4.
Aspnas finished third overall and first among Sea Warrior runners at the Sand Island Invite in Honolulu.
She covered the three-mile course in a time of 17:37.

Mary Katherine Franklin - Grand Canyon (Sr., 5-3, Lilburn, GA/Providence Christian)...finished second among GCU runners at the George Kyte Classic hosted by Northern Arizona University on Sept. 4...posted a time of 21:41.0 on the 5K course...finished 28th among four-year runners.
Kaitlyn Harbick - Grand Canyon (Fr., 5-6, Sherwood, OR/Sherwood)...finished fourth among GCU runners at the George Kyte Classic at Northern Arizona University on Sept. 4...recorded a time of 23:49.1 on the 5K course...finished 40th among four-year runners.
Joy Hulsey - Grand Canyon (So., 5-4, Peoria, AZ/Sunrise
Mountain)...placed third among all Antelope entries
at the George Kyte Classic at Northern Arizona University on Sept.
4...posted a time of 23:09.2 on the 5K course...finished 38th among
four-year runners.
Kim Kuhnert - Hawai‘i Pacific (So., 5-8, Leverkussen, Germany)...finished 10th at the HPU Sand Island 3-Mile Invite on Sept. 4...posted a time of 19:17...was second among all HPU runners.
Kylie Long - Academy of Art (Fr., 5-6, Stevenson Ranch, CA/West Ranch)...placed 61st among all four-year competitors at the University of San Francisco Invite on Sept. 4...registered a mark of 21:04 on the 5K course.
Melody Papali‘i - Hawai‘i Pacific (Fr., 5-5, Honolulu, HI/Kaiser)...finished 16th at the HPU Sand Island 3-Mile Invite on Sept. 4...posted a time of 23:58...was fourth among all HPU runners.
Leticia Saldaña - Academy of Art (Jr., 5-4, Salinas, CA/North Salinas)...placed 74th among all four-year runners at the University of San Francisco Invite on Sept. 4...posted a time of 22:01 on the 5K course.
Jamie Torres - Hawai‘i Pacific (Sr., 5-2, Daly City,
CA/Westmoor)...finished 15th among all runners and
third among Sea Warrior entries at the HPU Sand Island 3-Mile
Invite on Sept. 4...posted a time of 22:33.
Megan Young - Grand Canyon (So., 5-7, Glendale, AZ/Cactus)...top runner among all Antelope entries at the George Kyte Invitational at Northern Arizona University on Sept. 4...posted a time of 20:51.8 on the 5K course...finished 23rd among four-year runners.
Irinel Zamfir - Academy of Art (Sr., 5-6, Suceava, Romania)...finished 59th among four-year runners at the 2010 University of San Francisco Invite on Sept. 4...posted a time of 20:56 on the 5K course.
