HPU senior Frida Aspnaes earns 6th PacWest Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week
PHOENIX, AZ - Hawai‘i Pacific senior
Frida Aspnaes (Norrkoping, Sweden)
finished first at the 2010 HPU Invite on Oct. 23 to capture her
sixth Pacific West Conference Women’s Cross Country Runner of
the Week award of the year.
The honor was announced by the PacWest Media Office in Phoenix, AZ, on Monday, Oct. 25, for races contested Oct. 23.
Aspnaes completed the 5K run in a blistering time of 18:54 to win the race by 10 seconds.
She finished first out of 46 runners and helped the Sea Warriors to a second-place team finish.

Kirsten Andrew - Hawai‘i Hilo (Jr., 5-1, Garden Grove,
CA/Orange Lutheran)...finished first among Vulcan
runners and seventh overall at the 2010 HPU Invite on Oct.
23...recorded a time of 19:46 on the 5K course.
Katherine Buxton - BYU-Hawaii (Jr., 5-4, Gettysburg, PA/Gettysburg)... helped BYU-Hawaii win the 2010 HPU Invite on Oct. 23...finished second overall and first among Sea Warrior contestants after completing the 5K race in 19:04.
Kelsey Elder - BYU-Hawaii (So., 5-0, Lancaster, CA/Quartz Hill)...was eighth overall and fourth among the BYU-Hawaii runners at the HPU Invite on Oct. 23...completed the 5K course in 19:53.
Lacey (Johnson) Krout - BYU-Hawaii (Jr., 5-3, Preston, ID/Preston)...placed fourth overall and second among BYU-Hawaii runners at the HPU Invite on Oct. 23...covered the 5K course in 19:12.
Kim Kuhnert - Hawai‘i Pacific (So., 5-8, Leverkussen,
Germany)...posted a time of 19:18 at the HPU Invite
on Oct. 23...placed second among Sea Warrior runners and fifth
overall.
Lacee Kurtz - BYU-Hawaii (So., 5-6, Milford, OH/Milford)...placed 10th overall and sixth among Seasiders at the 2010 HPU Invite on Oct. 25...finished the 5K course in 20:00.
Lynette Manuel - Hawai‘i Pacific (Fr., 5-8, Oromocto, New Brunswick, Canada/Oromocto)...placed 12th out of 46 runners at the 2010 HPU Invite on Oct. 23...completed the 5K course in a time of 20:05...finished third among HPU entries...helped Sea Warriors to a second-place team finish.
Chanda Romney - BYU-Hawaii (Fr., 5-3, Forks, WA/Port
Angeles)...finished sixth overall and third among all
BYU-Hawaii runners at the 2010 HPU Invite on Oct. 23...completed
the 5K course in 19:53.
Amanda Wilson - BYU-Hawaii (So., 5-4, Clayton, WA/Riverside)...wound up ninth overall and fifth among Seasiders at the 2010 HPU Invite on Oct. 23...ran the 5K course in 19:57.
Irinel Zamfir - Academy of Art (Sr., 5-6, Suceava, Romania)...finished 33rd among four-year runners and first among Urban Knight entries at the 2010 Western Washington University Cross Country Classic on Oct. 23...finished the 6K course in 24:30.7.
